"Happiness is one tear away“

Do you remember the slogan "Happiness is one tear away“?

Yes, it's from Shreck 2 Movie. Fairy Godmother‘s card.
You have to cry and drop one single tear on it, and you will find your happiness, of course with the help of the famous Fairy God Mother. :-). But that is only a story, a nice and beautiful one. And it tells us something.

Are we happy?
Am I happy?
Do we need someone to make us happy?
Do we need the fairy Godmother?

Sometime when someone asked me, “are you happy?” I was stunned.
Not because I don’t have the answer. A simple answer such: “of course I am happy. I have a lovely husband, beautiful kids, what’s not to happy about?” will make the other party quiet.
But that kind of question will force us to look into our heart, and pass the question to our self, our deepest heart, “Am I happy?”

Happiness is a matter of heart.
We don’t need someone to give us our happiness, although the present of our loved ones will make us happy
We don’t need anything to make us happy
Beautiful jewelry, fancy car, beautiful home and other material things are sure will make us happy, or at least for some of us
But they won’t last….
You sure still be happy without them….

It’s all in our heart
I am happy with what I have now
Although I know I had some failure on the past and still have plenty to gain
Although I know my son had Language difficulties at school
But I am happy that I able to provide him a solution
I am happy with what I am doing for my family,
Although I know it’s far from perfect
But I know I am doing the best I could

Being happy it’s not about being perfect
(Although being perfect is sure bring us happiness  - but no one is perfect, right?)
Being happy is probably about accepting
Accepting who we are and what we are
Accepting what we can do and what we can not do
Accepting us as we are

Like Mariah carey said on "Hero":
There's a hero if you look inside your heart
YOu don't have to be afraid of what you are
There's an answer if you reach into your soul
And the emptiness you felt will melt away...
